TRUSpace is Thompson Rivers University’s institutional repository, a digital archive that showcases the scholarly, creative, and historical outputs of the TRU community. From faculty research and student theses to historical photographs and Indigenous language resources, TRUSpace offers open access to a wide range of materials.
What Is an Institutional Repository?
An institutional repository (IR) is an online collection of an institution’s intellectual and creative work. At TRU, TRUSpace preserves and shares materials created by faculty, students, and staff, as well as documents that reflect the university’s history and identity.
What Can You Find in TRUSpace?
TRUSpace includes 23 (and growing) unique collections and almost 5000 items, including:
- Faculty publications: Peer-reviewed articles and research outputs by TRU faculty
- Honours and masters theses: Graduate and undergraduate student research
- Secwépemc resources: Language and cultural materials from Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc
- Institutional history: Archival photos, brochures, and reports from TRU’s 50+ year history
- Open educational resources (OERs): Teaching materials created or adapted by TRU instructors
All materials are freely available to the public under Open Access principles.
Submitting Your Work to TRUSpace
Sharing your work through TRUSpace is easy and beneficial. Open Access increases the visibility and impact of your research, and many funding agencies now require it.
Faculty and researchers can submit articles, book chapters, OERs, and more by emailing the item and a completed TRUSpace non-exclusive license form [opens a PDF] to truspace@tru.ca.
Graduate students should submit theses through their program coordinator.
Other student work may be submitted with approval from a faculty supervisor.
Note: Some journals allow only specific versions of articles to be deposited or may require an embargo period before Open Access is permitted.
