At the library, we are always on the lookout for resources that can enhance our research and teaching. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) offers a valuable tool in this regard through its Digital Collection.

The ASME Digital Collection, accessible through the Database A-Z list and integrated into our Discovery Search, is a comprehensive repository of peer-reviewed content that spans decades:

  • Journals: Covering a wide range of engineering disciplines from 1933 to the present.
  • Conference Proceedings: Available from 2000 onwards, with select proceedings dating back to 1955.
  • eBooks: A rich collection from 1993, with some titles going back to 1944.

What makes the ASME Digital Collection particularly useful are its features designed to make research more efficient:

  • Retrieve content from journals, conference proceedings, and eBooks all at once.
  • Narrow down search results by keywords, topics, journal citation, and date range.
  • Focus on specific subject areas with curated collections.
  • Simplified navigation and inline figures & tables for a better reading experience.
  • Accessible on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Easily export citations and find citing articles.
  • Share links via social media and email and set up email alerts for saved searches and new content.

The ASME Digital Collection is more than just a repository; it’s a tool that can help you stay current with the latest research and industry news and trends. By making use of these resources, we can continue to push the boundaries of engineering knowledge and innovation. Please let us know what you think of the ASME Digital Collection by emailing the Collections Librarian.
