Holly Ashbourne recently joined the TRU Library as our new Web and Communications Librarian. Holly has a Library and Information Science Technician Diploma from Seneca College (2009); an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from University of Waterloo (2013); and a Masters of Library and Information Sciences from University of Western Ontario (2014). They also have a certificate in Teacher/Trainer for Online Learning from Conestoga College (2021).
Holly has wide ranging experience as a librarian especially in the areas of emerging technologies, digital and information literacy, and open educational resources. Most recently Holly worked as the Library Technologist eLearning and Digital Literacy at Conestoga College where they served as a technical lead on OER projects, created and delivered accessible digital and information literacy tutorials, provided training on a variety of OER platforms, and engaged in promotion of OERS and their integration into the college curriculum.
They will oversee the continuing development of the library’s web presence ensuring that it addresses the current and future teaching and research needs of the TRU community as well as meeting accessibility standards. They are a key member of the library team promoting library services, programs, and resources.
