Have you ever wanted to know more about how content is created for everyone’s favourite free reference source? Ever wished for an entry that wasn’t there? In partnership with iDays, join the TRU Library from 3-6pm on Wednesday, March 8 for a session of adding and improving Wikipedia entries for women and other under-represented minorities. In this session you will learn about how to create a Wikipedia account and what standards are used for editing and content creation. Most importantly, you will be given the opportunity to create or edit your own Wikipedia entries! Come to L209 at 3pm for help and direction on account creation, where to get started, and how to use the library to find the best resources to create citations; then work on your chosen entry individually or in small groups.
No prior Wiki experience needed. Bring your own laptop or borrow one from the library. Coffee provided.
